Commissioned artwork is based on photos and collages and the aim of the painting is that there is a detailed portrait within its own recognizable environment.
I usually search for a clear focus point within a quick and energetic style of the surroundings amongst that focuspoint. It forces the viewer to really explore the whole surface and the dialogue between my focus point and its surroundings, in my view, intensifies the portrait.
